As disciples of Christ, we are stuck between a command to righteousness as defined by our Lord and witnessed from Creation through to our daily lives, and the modern radical acceptance of self, with no moral compass or outside standard. As a church we must recognize this divide and understand and live into the expectations Christ sets for us, both for the benefit of the souls we serve and ourselves. Almighty ever-living God, who gather what is scattered and keep together what you have gathered, look kindly on the flock of your Son, that those whom one Baptism has consecrated may be joined together by integrity of faith and united in the bond of charity.
