In Exodus, God reminds Israel that He bore them on eagles’ wings and brought them to Himself. A beautiful image of God’s patient, fatherly love. He rescues us from bondage, feeds us in our weakness, and teaches us to trust Him when we, like young eagles, crash land. Through the waters of the Red Sea, the waters of Baptism, and the nourishment of the Eucharist, we are invited to stop hiding in shame and return again and again to God who loved us, even when we were His enemies. When we crash land, He is near. When we are weary, He feeds us. When we look up in faith, He teaches us to fly. In Christ, Fr. Cliff+
