Pastoral Care

What is Pastoral Care?

We believe that through Christ God has invited us into healing the image of Him within each of us that was marred by the fall. This image of God is healed in community. Through the life of a Christian we grow closer to Him and this walk begins at our baptism and is grown in communion. After our baptism we enter the narrow way and journey with others as we all move toward ultimate healing in a loving and most merciful God. Along the way we stumble, fall and fracture relationships.

Yet for Christians there is hope. This is what the work of Christ has done for us. Through Him we gain our footing, we stand back up and repair community. The work of the gospel is in reconciliation. Our view of pastoral care is grounded in Jesus conversation with Peter. When asked if Peter loved Jesus he emphatically said yes and Jesus in response asked peter to care for and feed his lambs. To tend his sheep. A pastoral relationship should be more than a sermon on Sunday. A pastor is a shepherd who walks beside you and seeks the will of God, supporting you along the way.
