What to Expect

What is the Anglican Church?

Did you believe that Jesus is God? We do too! Christians from the British isles were present at the council of Nicea in 325A.D. When the idea of the Trinity was made doctrine and Christians every where still hold to this belief today. The Anglican Church is really not a denomination in the way that other Churches may be. Our beliefs are grounded in our prayer and our belief in the fundamentals of the faith as expressed in the early Christian creeds. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion with us. We do not believe that we are the only way to follow Christ. We believe that there are true followers of Jesus that attend Baptist, Methodist, Roman, Orthodox and many other expressions of the Christian faith.

Most Christians believe that following Christ and being his disciple means living your life to glorify Him. As Anglican we believe that is lived out primarily through prayer. Prayer in communion, prayer in our community and prayer in our homes. If there is one thing that truly sets the Anglican way apart from other Christians is our dedication to a life of prayer! The pinnacle of this life of prayer is communion in Christ at our weekly worship gathering. Learn more about our worship and what to expect here.

Anglican Worship Distinctives

The Anglican way of following Christ is actually the third largest Christian tradition worldwide, with over 90 million Christians worshiping Jesus together each week. While we are firmly planted in the doctrines of the Reformation, our worship is grounded in experiencing Christ with all of our senses. We recite liturgy because it reminds us each week that all of our voices are important for worship. We are able to recall the truths of God and the Bible together in formative ways.
